  1. Question - is the Bedknobs and Broomsticks book the source material for the movie? Are you reading the book first, then watching the movie? In general, how do you handle book to movie adaptations for the kids at your house? :D

    1. I am trying to have Sam read the book first, then see the movie. We just finished Pollyanna last week, and we'll be watching the movie this weekend. I'm pretty sure, based on a little of the non-politically-correct content in Bedknobs, it was "Disney-fied" when made into a movie, LOL...I don't recall mention of turning anyone into a slave in the movie vs. the book!

  2. My kids had Pokey little Puppy and Little Red Hen and Peter Rabbit! So Maddy is 3 for 3. Not Bed Knobs and Broomsticks though. Fangirl said she saw the movie once she thinks. I read the book and the other one that Sam is reading is bit too modern for my kids :) As to what i am reading... nothing at the moment. I used to read heaps and heaps but not so much any more. i do have reading jags though... read like mad for a week or two and then nothing. Weird how we change. My 4 kids are all avid readers so i did something right as a mum

  3. Pokey Little Puppy was one of my faves as a kid, and now I have the fabric collection and bought the book to go with it. At some point, it'll be made into a baby quilt. Haven't gotten there yet! Thanks, as always, for your info about books as well as quilts. Both much appreciated!

  4. I remember Pokey Little Puppy too! My favourite Little Golden Book, though, was Dan Dan the Bandage Man. It came complete with a bandaid on the inside cover! (Not that it stayed there that long).
