  1. May I do Little Black Sambo, by Helen Bannerman, as my book for the BB Show and Tell. It was my favorite book as I child...I loved that the boy was smarter than the tiger and got pancakes! I have not seen the book in 55 years but still remember the beautiful illustrations of the jungle and colorful elegant clothes the little boy wore and how silly the tiger looked in the clothes...the best part was the tiger roars my Daddy O used to make for the tigers part in the story. I tried to find the book to read to my sons when they were small, learned the book was banned....so silly the kiddo was from India...and the story was about a very clever little boy! shelly beth

  3. I'll admit, my teenagers often have cereal for dinner. Even cocoa crispies. Lol!

  4. I love the idea of doing a quilt based on a Banned book. I loved the idea last year but had no time to participate. I love it this year too but I need to finish several large projects that are time sensitive. But what I CAN do and what I WANT to do is to commit to reading all of the banned books by this time next year. Most of them I have read before but I think it would be fantastic to read them all again. Many are available in audio format and I generally listen to audio books while driving, running and quilting.

So ask me next August how I am doing on my new reading list. Woo Hoo!!!!
