CGM
I'm enjoying listening. I just want to put in a word about yarn choice for sock knitting. I have knit many a pair (knitwish on ravelry if you want to look). I have found that the socks knit with some nylon in the mix - (usually 70 to 75 % wool, 20 - 25 % nylon), withstand the test of time. I machine wash cold delicate and air dry. But many of the beautiful 100% wool yarns have shrunk a bit or felted a bit, even if labeled as superwash, and I get to pass them on to someone with smaller feet. The beautiful hand dyed 100% wool 'sock' yarns are better for a shawl or something else. Thanks for podcasting!
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was walking through the fabric district of NYC with you. So fun. And my colleagues gave me a gift certificate for ebooks for my retirement. Thanks to you I spent it today after looking through your updated book list!
