OK I got that off my chest, so let me also say that this has been a very fun quilt to make, mainly because of all the comraderie on the link-ups and Flickr group.
Most of the time we are "alone" in the making of our quilts...until we choose to share it via our blog or other social media. So seeing everyone's progress from fabric selection to block assembly, to a few already completed quilts, has been so invigorating to my love of quilting, as well as keeping me on track with putting my own Easy St. together.
I'm still working on Step 8, the "Big Finish" where you sew the main blocks together. This will take me some time, as I have other projects to finish this month, including a quilt for the UFO-Along.
Here is my progress so far: (sorry for the dark photos, the sun wasn't shining this morning!)
These will be the outer-edge blocks
Here is Block A
Another Block A, ready to sew
Both blocks together.
I like how this is coming together so far. I will probably play with some of those center green blocks in Blocks A and B, and may need to cut more. While it's supposed to be a scrappy quilt, I think I like all 4 of those green print blocks in the center to be the same fabric.

Wow! Your Easy Street blocks look great. I have saved all of the instructions for Bonnie's mystery quilts for years, but never tried one. This may be the one I actually try.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie!
Deletehang in there you will go from whiner to winner!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a LOT of sewing at the end! Your quilt will be gorgeous - I LOVE the orange you popped in there in place of the purple.
ReplyDeleteYour five minutes of whiiiiine, didn't even last five minutes!! LOL The orange in your quilt is great. It absolutely pops and I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth!
DeleteWant some cheese with that whine? I'll join you. Truth is, I'm still muddling around about step three. The flying geese have not been my friends!
ReplyDeleteStep 8 was certainly a BIGGER step than all the rest, especially with the borders and quilting thrown in! I love the dotty fabric.
ReplyDeleteGREAT job! I love how yours is looking. You have made a ton of progress and should be proud.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jaye!
DeleteI LOVE the orange! Such a fun variation from Bonnie's version. I have to agree that there was a lot of piecing. I temporarily skipped clue #7 so I could see how the blocks look once they're pieced. Even so, I've only finished one block A and one block B. We'll get through it eventually :)
ReplyDeleteI have 3 block A's done and I'm trying not to poop out LOL.
DeleteThese colors are great! It is looking good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gretchen!
DeleteI am so loving all the color choices we all make. So much fun.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is entitled to a little"whine" now and again.
ReplyDeleteLove your colours.
My whine is about all the cutting, admittedly, I was behind all the way and so did massive amounts of cutting up front, but still! Whine whine whine. Ok, now I am through. YOUR colors are wonderful and I like how you put the same four blocks in the center. Controlled scrappy works for me. Good job.
ReplyDeleteChristy Horton
Thank you so much....and for joining me in the whine, LOL.
DeleteI agree with the whining - the last couple of steps had multiple steps all at once which was a little overwhelming to me. The design is great though.
ReplyDeleteLove you colors!! It is going to be gorgeous.
I love the way the orange pops! The 5 min rule is a good one, sometimes you just need to get it off your chest, and move on. I didn't participate, just followed y'all, quilting vicariously. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it!!! Are you using Flea Market Fancy?
ReplyDeleteYes I am! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteYour colors are beautiful and there is no hurry, you'll get it done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Connie!
DeleteI like the colors you are using.
