Birdie Sling for the Beach

I didn't have time to post more pics of my Birdie Sling prior to going on "hiatus" recently. I made this a couple weeks ago. Believe it or not, it's my FIRST Birdie Sling! I know, right? Hasn't everyone who enjoys making handbags/totes made this Amy Butler "classic?" Or so it seems. And now I can see why! The pattern is fantastic, and so easy to follow. And it is such a roomy bag, with 3 interior pockets - perfect for a busy mom on the go OR anyone who just always ends up carrying everything but the kitchen sink within a few days of changing over to a new bag. I also like that since the entire bag is made of fabric, you can just throw it in the wash when it needs cleaning....like when your daughter is "helping" you carry it and drops it in the first bathroom floor puddle she passes by. I know, double eeewwwwww! Sigh. Thank goodness the place we stayed had a washer/dryer.

Anyways, if you're looking for a marvelous "carry-all" bag you can customize with your favorite fabrics, I highly recommend the Birdie Sling by Amy Butler. I will definitely be making another one of these in the future!

  1. A very cute bag. It does look like you could hold everything but the kitchen sink in it.! I like big roomy purses, but I'm trying to downsize my whole life these days -- including my purse size!
