What I'm Reading This Month

I'm off to BEA (Book Expo America) tomorrow and only taking my Kindle Fire as I'll be coming back loaded down with books, book bags (which are the real highlight of the show), and various other handouts foisted on us as we walk the show floor for 3 days. I know I'll be coming back with my head filled with all the rave reviews publishers will give me for their upcoming Fall titles thus making my nightstand book pile even higher. In the meantime, I'm still catching up on some Spring/Summer releases. Here are a few new titles I've been eager to read, as well as a couple older releases I'm determined to dive into as well since they've been on my nightstand for so long.

Wife 22 by Melanie Gideon

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
(on sale 7/10/12, I am reading an advance copy)

The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner
(on sale 7/3/12, I am reading an advance copy)

Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones

(on sale 8/2/12, I am reading an advance copy)

Insurgent by Veronica Roth

What are you reading this month?

  1. I've just begun listening to your podcast recently, I love it! I'm jealous you are going to BEA - books are my passion, I'm a little too obsessed with the YA genre at the moment. I'm starting Insurgent soon - I know it's gonna be good! :)

  2. Okay, I am going to be sassy and ask why my favorite authors are never on your list.... Jayne Ann Krentz ( all her pseudonyms) J.D. Robbs / Nora Roberts, Tess Gerritsen, and Kathy Reichs are never on your list? I love their books.

What can you tell me about 50 SHADES OF GREY? All the girls at work are reading it... I know it is part of a series but just found out about them recently. What is you evaluation of that series.

    1. I guess because I get to read the advance copies of JD Robb and Jayne Krentz so far ahead of their public release, I don't always think to mention them LOL. But I DO definitely read them! I just wish Eve and Roarke would have a baby or have something "major" happen in their lives to shake things up in the overall storyline a bit. Haven't read much Tess Gerritsen lately, or Kathy Reichs but I have to limit my books with graphic murder scenes as I tend to dream/have nightmares about them or the storylines and find myself looking over my shoulder for serial killers ha!

  3. I just found your podcast and really enjoy it - thanks for putting it out there! I just love people with crafter's ADD, it's so nice to know I'm not alone :)

I am also really jealous that you have an advance copy of the Debra Harkness book - you'll have to let all of us "witches" followers know what you thought of it. Thanks again for all you do!
