February is "love month" and as such, I usually fill the 28 (29 this year!) days reading all the 'fluff-and-nonsense" books I can fit in. So I'm unashamedly letting you know there will be minimal, if any, "serious literary reads" going on this month. However, books like this (chick-lit, romances, fluff, etc..) hold a special place in my book-lovin' heart. I remember reading my first
Sweet Dreams YA romance and have been hooked on that "boy-meets-girl, then something"bad" happens, then they fall in love/live happily ever after" since.
On-sale 3/13/12. I am reading an advance copy.
What are you reading this month?
CGM
Right now I'm nearly finished with Mary Balogh's "Secret Mistress", a Regency romance. Next up is selections from "Down these Strange Streets", an anthology of urban fantasy. Not sure what "urban fantasy" is, but there's a short story from Diana Gabaldon's Lord John series in it that is the main reason I looked for it in the library.
ReplyDeleteI just finished listening to the audiobook of "Fair and Tender Ladies" by Lee Smith. Some books are just meant to be audiobooks, and this is one. I don't know if this is one you recommended, Tanesha, or not. I've followed a few of your recommendations and have never been disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI agree about 'Fair and Tender Ladies'. Listen to this one!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm listening to 'A Confederacy of Dunces'. It is supposed to be funny, but I'm not sure I like it much. The main character is a horrible person, and I want to slap his mother! But I've just started it, and it may get better.
Just finished The House at Tyneford and am now listening to A Discovery of Witches. I'm reading a lot of sewing books right now. Thanks for your recommendations! I've enjoyed all I read or listen to.
