So that's exactly what happened on Saturday morning when I happened to glance at the last Joann Fabrics circular and noticed the 40% off an item coupon expired that day. What? Allow such a good "deal" go to waste? No, no no my mind said to me. So off I went. Nothing particular in mind that I needed, but as I drove there I rationalized several potential purchases..a new cutting ruler perhaps? Maybe one of their jelly rolls? Of course, the fun is in the wandering around the store, touching various items, imagining the possibilities. In the end, here is what I bought:
1 Wilton Candy Ring Kit, 2 $1 Spring foam craft kits, 1 embroidery hoop, 1 skein of red DMC cotton embroidery thread, 1 pack of embroidery needles, 3 fat quarters, 1 Dritz marking pen, 1 pack of rotary blades, 1 60mm rotary cutter, 1 45mm rotary cutter
OK, I definitely did not "need" the 45mm rotary cutter, but they were 40% off and the one I currently have tends to be a bit of a pain to replace the blade for some strange reason. The ring and foam craft kits are for Samantha to do as spring crafts in a future "rainy day" weekend. The embroidery items and fat quarters are my upcoming doll quilt swap and the "bright idea" I had walking around the store, which seems a little harebrained now, but I'll see how it plays out in the coming weeks and get back to you.
So, yes, I did end up using that lone 40% off coupon...on the embroidery hoop no less. I "saved" a whopping $2.40 off my $30 tab. And guess what awaited me in the mail when I returned from the store? Yes, the next Joann Fabrics circular! And this one is filled with their "coupon commotion" 40% off coupons...more saving to be had!
