Black Friday for Crafty People

I do the majority of my holiday shopping for family and friends online. I hate long lines, bumper-to-bumper traffic in mall parking lots, and the quick sell-outs of the deals you're looking for.

With that said, I have found that you encounter very few of these issues at fabric and craft stores or my LQS. I also went to my local Target at 10 am and I think all the early-birds went home to sleep because it was practically empty! I've been able to find some fun items to add to my stash or quilt studio decor. Here's my "Black Friday/Weekend" haul:

Jelly rolls in Ruby by Bonnie & Camille and Little Apples by Aneela Hoey

Retro mini lunchbox tins! They can be used for this:

So cute! I bought several of these (at Target) and plan to use them
for Secret Santa swaps for my quilty friends.

Run, don't walk to your local JoAnn's and check out their adorable
craft and stitcher related holiday signs

and mugs!

And I couldn't resist picking up this magazine.
I'm a big fan of the Quilting Arts Gifts editions each year,
and several of the projects in Stitch Gifts looked great.

So that's my "Black Friday for Stitchers" haul. What did you treat yourself to?

  1. Ooo the Ruby jelly roll! I love that fabric line. Always drool when I see someone else pick up some precuts of it.

Love the little tins and what a great idea for classes!

I picked up a new Ottlight for my new fabric cutting table/area and I also snagged a small lightbox that was 40% off. I didn't venture out on Black Friday but I did participate on Cyber Monday.

  2. Friday, Friday? Man - I can't remember Friday. I don't think we left the house except for Friday Night Dinner. But - I like what you bought. I have never bought a jelly roll, although I did buy Stonehenge strips once in a frenzy at Empty Spools. I heard Sandy mention you sewed up a storm that day, too. Looking forward to seeing what you made Miss Tanesha.
